The Depot

The '77

My husband has an old 1977 Ford F-250 that was given to him. It's a lovely 70's terra cotta shade of brownish orange. He has a newer, nicer truck, but no, every time we leave the house he's asking me, "How 'bout taking the '77?" I love him, but I don't love his truck!

Paws and Pals Pup Portraits

These pup portraits were taken at an event called "Paws and Pals" in Jamestown, NC.

The Sophisticated Sparky

My husband rescued Sparky several years ago. He was kept in a rabbit cage by his last owner, because she was afraid her kids would step on him. He's such a sweetheart, and I love rescue dogs! Sparky has a very dignified personality, and I think it shows in this portrait of him.

Little Bird

I spotted this little guy in my parents' backyard two summers ago.
Quite the animated little bird!

More from Caleb's Baptism Luncheon

Got Flava?

Now, I'll be the first to admit that this isn't the best photograph I've ever taken... but it's Flava Flav! It just makes me laugh... that big old A&T clock around his neck is ridiculous! I took this photo when I was interning at the Carolina Peacemaker in Greensboro. I got to photograph some really neat stuff while I was there, and had a lot of unique experiences, to say the least!

Pearls

At Randolph Community College, every student starts out on film. My first camera was a Bronica medium format, which was used for the majority of my first year photography. In our second semester though, we learned how to photograph using large format cameras... the kind where you have to have a blanket over your head! I set up a little table-top studio in my apartment, using natural window light and a bounce card to photograph my pearls for a portfolio assignment. It's one of my favorite images from my school years.

Portraits of Haiti

In the summer of 2004 and the spring of 2005, I was able to go on mission trips to Haiti with my church. We spent most of our time in and around Port-au-Prince and Gonaives.

Walk on the Wild Side

Animals Up-Close

My Worst Nightmare!

One of my biggest fears in the ocean is the jellyfish! Thankfully, these were in a tank at Ripley's Aquarium in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

The Medieval City

This photograph was taken in Carcassonne, France, in the Medieval City. I got to go sightseeing there for a day... it was an amazing place to photograph!

Subway Station Legs

I went to New York City with my school, Randolph Community College, for a photography conference. I spotted this lady waiting for the subway, and loved the look of her cute shoes against the dingy subway background.
